Pyrenees trout

Gourmet Trout!

For over 70 years, the "La Truite des Pyrénées" fish farm has been raising trout in Lau-Balagnas, at the confluence of the Gave de Barèges, Gave de Gavarnie and Gave de Cauterets rivers. The third generation of the family business, Franck Pomarez, his sister Fanny and his brother-in-law Mathieu, continue a tradition of excellence there.

Here, in the pure, fresh waters of the mountain streams, rainbow and brown trout grow, their delicate, flavorful, and very lean flesh a rosy hue . From these exceptional fish, the farm produces fresh or smoked fillets, rillettes or fish cakes, creamy soups, prepared dishes… all available in their shop. As they say themselves: “Eating better also means eating locally!”

Importantly, sustainable development is at the heart of Franck and Fanny's concerns, who have introduced innovations such as waste recovery and photovoltaic energy production.

Finally, it's worth noting that the fish farm offers a small pond for trout fishing year-round. All equipment is provided free of charge , allowing you to fill your basket with delicious trout while having fun!
